Nigeria (Giant of Africa) and a Great nation with Bad leaders

You might be wondering why, or what exactly am I trying to write about this time, simply because of the topic in the heading used which looks like one about to write a history of the country. I'll tell you exactly why I have come to settle for this topic, and you might as well be thinking that or maybe I want to start discussing politics or talk about what you already know about the subject matter, like being the most populated country on the continent of Africa, and the biggest oil exporter and her size is bigger than the smallest state in the US, anyway, not so, I am trying to open up a discussion about what is going on since independence to the present day Nigeria, what exactly some people are gallivanting about, all the rumours and lies some news media like CNN are spreading about, amongst which is the most annoying ones recently like: that which they said recently saying that, Nigerian parents are selling of their kids for $500. So pathetic because, I am well travelled and even when i do, I keep my ears to the ground back home where may families are and I see no reason why such giant new media could stoop so low as to be spreading such unreal rumours. Anyway, I am not surprised since I have come to know that news media especially as so full of it, as that's their MO and ways of making names for themselves right from onset when the freedom of the press has already been jeopardised by some ruthless and so called world powerful people who pulls the strings of the media and controls everything they so. We are not all kids any more because, even the child that was born today knows exactly what is going on these days, talk less of a Professional Philosopher like me.

The country, Nigeria is heavily blessed with so many natural resources and even the citizens are so blessed with high IQ and intellects and the only problem we are faced with is the deteriorating quality of leaders governing the affairs of the people and especially managing the resources we have and the whole country herself. So, number of resources she possessed and many other similar thing relating to how she has been blessed. Okay, enough of that. Lets go there or get it started.

The trend and lifestyle of all Nigerians, especially the political (leaders), and some of the entire citizens has nothing to do with being wicked but, they can be ascribed people of different moral backgrounds, languages, intellects and religions, since (she has more than 250 ethnic groups within), that's not all, the vast majority of the people living life lackadaisically on many level with moral decadence and this is one of the crucial matters that is wrong on many level because, all over Africa and in the entire world, Nigeria is one of the country that the citizens really worship (serves) in all ways from Christianity, Islamic and ATR levels. From onset, and from the time before slavery and independence, Nigerian forefathers during their time were seen as the who worships in the African Traditional Religion because, that is what there own fathers before them laid down before them and that being said, so, the nation was founded upon ATR (African Traditional Religion) before the advent of the whites who brought in Christianity and then Arabs (Jihadists) who brought Islam, and till date, the most practiced religion in Nigeria is Christianity and Islam, while the ATR is relegating because, everybody's eye is opened and though, the trado-medical doctors (herbs doctors) are well accepted since they are the backbone in the ATR and there are things they can fixed in their own ways (unorthodox) where others have failed but they all complement themselves.

We are all one despite some religion differences and background because, religion is not the reason why there are problems or chaos that some times happens in some part of the country, especially in the Northern part where our brothers and sister resides because, those areas are not overpopulated and as such, it paved ways for bad things to easily be harbored since there are places the bad people plotting could easily be hiding or plotting their bad ways but, this also has to do with the present government that failed to do their duty, the duties they are getting paid for since they are too preoccupied with other matters that does not really necessary or has anything to do with the country's development other than to deprive the country of her glories beyond since they have failed to develop the country by fixing the refineries, creating jobs, returning back to or improving our agricultural methods to a mechanised farming and many more things this country can be wealthy back again like it used to be way back in the 70 before the naira was adopted in 1974

Without no further ado, the situation of things is so precarious to the extent that, even the so called power supply has yet to be fixed or proffer a solution since inception because, the country is over 54 years old after she gained independence and none of the past presidents from that time see it fit to rectify whatever the case is since the country is so blessed, why else can't one of them just find a solution to solve the predicament once and for all! Because, other developed counties have actually been using power supply that is so constant and some are even celebrating over many years of having a constant and durable power supply. Oh I get it, even the so-called GEJ, promised to resolved the erratic power supply comes 2013 while he was campaigning for re-election in 2011 and of course, C. Amanpour from CNN who was opportune to interview the then incumbent president in 2011 who was clamouring just so he could be re-elected and all came down to nothing when he was confronted in 2014 after having failed on his promises.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the country’s finance minister said and I quote that "“If we want this country and this economy to do better, we just have to get out. And Nigeria is pursuing one of the most sweeping privatization programs in any country in the world,” she said. “We are selling off everything.”. Source/Reference How could that be the best way out of all this or the solution to solving the issue which has been deteriorating for a very long time now?

Nigeria is the only country amongst the OPEC importing fuel despite the fact that, we have enormous amount of oil in reserve, this is bound to get exhausted if not properly managed and at the rate which the government is selling off the crude oil and only the marketers and the government in the higher ranks that are benefiting from it and just of recent, "The Nigeria Petroleum Minister, said that: the country is going to be importing petroleum products for the next 20 years", just imagine all that after all, ever since they have been importing petroleum products after they must have first sold ~ exported the crude oil that was obtained from this land, and sold through the exporters that are only interested on how they are going to fill their own deep pockets because, I believed that, some of them could have guide the government against such act but they rather, they might even be the ones that instigated them in the first place. Nigeria is one of the largest oil exporter, the only one that imports oil. Because, the three refineries in the country is not up and running, who knows if they did this purposely or why can't they fixed them once and for all and even build more after all? Some countries don't even have oil deposits and yet they have enough refineries. Some of these countries includes: Algeria -5, Libya -5, SA -6, Malaysia -7, Egypt -9, Iran -9, Irak -11 and USA -142 (139 full operational), Texas alone has more than 30 refineries.

How expensive are the so called refineries been built that Nigeria couldn't afford? Yet a single state in the US has more than enough. This shouldn't be a problem if not because, they purposely didn't want to fix these places and even build more! Oh! I get it, there will be many conflict of interests between the current president and fixing them or building some new ones will put the following people out of business after all, they claimed to among the richest people in Africa, benefiting from Nigeria oil money since Since crude oil where discovered way back "Oloibiri Oilfield was discovered on Sunday 15 January 1956 by Shell Darcy. It is Nigeria first commercial oil discovery".  And in the 80's Nigeria used to export refined oils and not this present situation because, back then the government in power were still a little bit competent than the present ones after them.

The issues behind the reason why the past presidents to the present one refuses to fix the refineries and also find a way to solve the erratic power supply, as all these things can be ascribe to the fact that, they have been benefiting from the way the refineries are bad till date is because, there will be conflicts of interests between them and the supposed oil marketers who have been some of the reason why the country people suffers for them to be rich since if these things were fixed, they won't be benefiting henceforth and the reason why the past leaders are so happy the way things were is because, they put themselves first in everything they do in this country since their salaries monthly are tantamount and also, collecting tips and bribes from the marketer that were once just three (3) candidate that have now rise to like 100 of them and among them are: Femi Otedola (was arrested way back concerning a federal oil scam and he bribed his way out), Aliko Dangote said to be African's richest number 1 man, Wale Adenuga; African's richest number 5 according to Forbes, some of these other people are on Forbes richest men in Africa too: and note that the list of all the oil marketers is not really suggesting that, they are all culprits to the downfall of Nigeria but they could have worked hand in hand with the government and discuss how the government could fix the country's refineries instead of the list rising from 3 to 100 and maybe still counting.

Don't think too far off where they are making most of their money from, since they are not encouraging the rulers of this country jut because they wanted to make most of the money the country supposed to be using as a mean to balance her GDP (Gross Domestic Product - GDP' The monetary value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific time period, though GDP is usually calculated on an annual basis). so that the rate at which the other currencies keep rising, while Naira falls (depreciates) every time is alarming and in the history of Nigeria, the rate at which dollars and pounds sterling have risen to date has never been seen before because, in the early 2000, 1$ used to be exchanged in around N150 but during the present government and president GEJ, it just too ridiculous above N200 in the past weeks as it just dropped below N200 to $1 at exactly N198 to 199 which has remained constant for the past few days now, while pounds sterling remained around N300 to 1£ and the pounds which was usually around N250 suddenly wouldn't come down anymore because, the same old set of people who have been ruling the country since roughly 35 years ago or more are still the present people still running the country economy into the ground, and without allowing the the young capable graduates that are well educated a chance to prove they are made of.

Okay so what? These issues are especially affecting the masses since the majorities are the poorest, the fewer being the rich and hardly will they have time to cater or guide the poor people since only want to be richer while exploiting and using the poor masses for their labourers and paying a very bad minimum wage and the people in power earning millions even if they don't have any valid certificate to back the degree they claimed they are saying they have, and if only the politicians can be put on a minimum wage, you'll be surprised how the situation of this country would turn around for good. The issue that is affecting the people and the masses goes from poor housing, bad road in some areas, expensive housing where the poor people can afford to live, poor jobs/basic salaries for the masses since the rich are the ones employing people while the, go to other many other oil producing countries, their minimum wage is by far higher than what the government put in place here for people to continue living in penury after having spent much time studying because, in the past, the graduates always having jobs laying down for them to start working immediately after graduating from the University, colleges or polytechnics.

The right thing for the Nigerian government to do is to fix our refineries, make them work at a full capacity or close, and even build more refineries since those three are old and the new ones could act as backups, go back to agricultural aspect they have neglected in the past after oil was first discovered, retire all old folks who are already reached retirement but, have either been backdating the DOB (date of birth) using connection and et cetera and that's when these would thereby create more jobs, and the Nigerian people will live better lives as fuel usage would be cheaper, life would be easier, and the young ones who embarks on a bad lackadaisical attitudes and behaviours where most of them get involved in online internet scams and all sorts of bad manners as a results of poor infrastructures the government failed to implement and put in place and poor jobs or bad minimum wage. We are meant to work together in building a greater and better Nigeria, no offence to any name mentioned on here as I writer, a press and a Philosopher, news is meant to be shared to be in order to enlighten them since we are in the technology age and also an enlightenment age, Nigeria people should wake up and rise to the occasion I don't mind whoever is in power, the most important thing is that, they should do their best and make our country great, greater than even the way it used to be in the past when it used to be then that she was even way better than it is now.

This is where i'll drop my pen on this topic, i'll be moderating, editing and adding or subtracting at will and whenever anything comes to mind because, I have so many stuffs on my plate now and as such, I can afford to spend so many more time over this same article which I have already made and you guys should feel free to comment, i'll approved them as appropriate if whatever you left is desirable and reasonable enough and thanks as you comment.
